About Andrew – the person behind Ontrak Financial Planning
In 2006, after ten fun years in the wine trade, I started to develop a strong interest in managing my own financial affairs and found it to be quite a ‘minefield’. This interest grew and grew and I decided to change course and pursue a career helping other people make sense of it all.
I resigned from my position in the wine industry, started studying, took the exams and secured a position with a firm in London as a trainee financial adviser. In spring 2008, the penny really dropped when I attended a workshop which was all about delivering a service which completely revolves around helping clients to achieve and maintain the lifestyle they want.
Since then, my aim has been to hone my financial planning skills to deliver a service that will make a real difference to my client’s lives. And to mine!
I was keen to work with client’s closer to my home in rural Essex so in 2009 I joined HLS Financial Planning where I started to deliver the service I provide today: Lifestyle Financial Planning. During my time at HLS, I continued my studies and qualified as a Certified Financial Planner, which is the pinnacle of financial planning qualifications.
In 2013, I set up Ontrak Financial Planning. This has enabled me to design a bespoke service helping clients have more time and freedom to do the things they want to do and giving them peace of mind that their financial affairs are being well managed.
Outside of work, I enjoy the outdoors, keeping fit and spending time with my wife Jo, and our four children (as well as being a taxi driver!). The “trak” of Ontrak comes from the first letter of each of our children’s names: Tom, Rosie, Alex & Katie.
I have played a variety of sports including rugby for Saffron Walden and cricket for Great Canfield, although my preference is now to relax and watch from the boundary edge! I still enjoy playing squash, tennis and the occasional round of golf. Chill out time for me also includes pottering in the garden with something interesting in my glass!
Please get in touch if you think I can help you.
